About Mrs. CootsI have always had a passion for serving children and found an incredible program through Lee University in Cleveland, TN where I could earn my degree and teaching license. I began the Interdisciplinary Studies Program right out of high school in 2009 and graduated in December 2012.
I absolutely love learning and wanted to learn more about being a successful leader in a public school. I was offered a Graduate Assistantship at the Helen Devos College of Education at Lee University that allowed me to earn my Master of Education program at Lee University. I completed the program January 2013 - August 2014. I completed my first year of teaching August 2014-May2015 at Alpine Crest Elementary in Chattanooga, TN teaching all subjects of 4th grade. I was pleased to have been rated a highly effective educator for the Hamilton County district. My husband, Andrew, and I are originally from Troy, Ohio and while we loved our 6 years in Tennessee we knew how important family would always be and decided it is the Lord's plan for us to move back to freezing cold Ohio to be with our favorite people. Andrew is my high school sweetheart and we celebrated our 3 year anniversary on May 10th. We have one fur-baby, Zuzu, who is 2 years old and we adore her. I am excited and honored to be a Fairfield Indian and look forward to the 2016-2017 school year! I look forward to working with each and every student and parent that comes through my classroom door. I want you to feel free to contact me through this site and through my school email to collaborate about your student's goals and progress. If you are focused from day one, you WILL be successful. It will be hard work and challenging at times, but I know we can do it together and I promise to do everything in my ability to make sure each child meets their goals. Love, Mrs. Amanda Coots |
